St. Joseph’s Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory high school for girls. SJA is a five-time National Blue Ribbon School awardee, having been honored by the U.S. Department of Education in 1991, 1996, 2002, 2016 and 2023.

SJA was founded in 1868 by the Sisters of St. Joseph. For 155 years, the Academy has stood as a pillar of excellence in the Baton Rouge community. Academy students grow in Catholic faith traditions through a comprehensive religious education program, liturgical rituals and service opportunities; become lifelong learners through interaction with master teachers and mentors; and enjoy peer relationships and learn leadership skills in a variety of co-curricular activities, including 12 interscholastic sports and 40-plus student clubs and organizations.
